Bacteria and ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This amazing living culture is NOT a mushroom. There is no mycelium. Just yeast and bacteria. These little beauties have a symbiotic relationship helping one another to create an awesome fermentation of tea, water and sugar. This probiotic beverage has loads of goods for your body to help maintain health and balance. Sometimes you might find one in your kombucha. That's great! It tells you that the brew you are drinking is RAW and ALIVE. You can toss it or eat it. We like to call it the Vegan Oyster.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you pitch it or slurp it down?

There is massive change happening. The thing about change, real change, is that it is extremely uncomfortable. It's awkward. We fumble, we wobble, we stagger. But as long as we keep moving forward and are willing to grow with the changes, we'll be ok. Dawn, sunrise, beginning. People often say, it's a new day! Yes, it is, but that doesn't mean the pain of yesterday is gone. It doesn't mean we are free of the past. We have a new day to make new choices. The hope is that the new choices bring us to a better tomorrow. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stay strong, folks. You don't have to be strong every day or even all day. If you can be there for someone, do so. If you need help, reach out. One thing we have found, is people do want to help. Many just don't know how. It's up to us to find the help we need, provide it when we can, and look for ways to offer our skills in meaningful ways. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are grateful to provide a beverage that helps to support your mind, body and spirit. Keep moving. We need you.

We are nature. We are nurture. We are everything in between. Support each other and the world around us and we can all benefit from that strength. For too long have we ignored the forces that would have us destroy everything and everyone. It's time to take our lives back. It's time to get to work. It's time to make this a better place for when our grandkids become parents and they can have any relationship they choose. They can feel safe in their homes. They can feel confident in a government that seeks to lift it's people up instead of brutally holding it down. Help to make the change. We are the change. ...

OMG this is just so beautiful! You know what's not beautiful? The racial and economic inequality of our country! Did you know that Racial inequality was preserved through housing discrimination and segregation?

During the early 1900s, a number of policies were put into place in our country’s most important institutions to further segregate and oppress black people. For example, in the 1930s, the federal government, banks and the real estate industry worked together to prevent black people from becoming homeowners and to create racially segregated neighborhoods. And it is still a big problem.

This process, known as redlining, served to concentrate whites in middle-class suburbs and black people in impoverished urban centers. Racial segregation in housing has consequences for everything from education to employment. Moreover, because public school funding relies so heavily on local taxes, housing segregation affects the quality of schools students attend.

All of this means that even after the removal of discriminatory housing policies and school segregation laws in the 1950s and 1960s, the consequences of this intentional segregation in housing persist in the form of highly segregated and unequal schools. All students should learn this history to ensure that they do not wrongly conclude that current racial disparities are based on individual shortcomings – or worse, black inferiority – as opposed to systematic oppression.

Americans live in a starkly unequal society where health and economic outcomes are largely influenced by race. We cannot begin to meaningfully address this inequality as a society if we do not properly understand its origins. The white supremacists responsible for sanitizing our history lessons understood this. Their intent was clearly to keep the country ignorant of its racist past in order to stymie racial equality. To change the tide, we must incorporate a more accurate depiction of our country’s racist history in our K-12 curricula.

Do you know what this is?! It is a Queen Honey Bee in Mating ritual! This rarely seen occurrence is a huge blessing. A Queen Bee only emerges once in her lifetime to mate. (maybe twice if the hive swarms) During this time she can be mated up to 15 times! Usually this is done in the air, but Vanessa was lucky enough to capture it in her own garden!
Some interesting bee facts are:
* All worker bees are FEMALE. All of those cartoons and everyone in your life were wrong. Can you smell the patriarchy here?
* Drones are the only males, who's sole purpose in life is to mate with the queen once and then immediately die.
* Bees will literally work themselves to death in the summer months
*Bees are hardwired to do certain jobs. Scout bees, which search for new sources of food, are wired for adventure. Soldier bees, discovered in 2012, work as security guards their whole life. One percent of all middle-aged bees become undertakers—a genetic brain pattern compels them to remove dead bees from the hive. But most amazingly, regular honeybees—which perform multiple jobs in their lifetime—will change their brain chemistry before taking up a new gig. (how do we learn how to do this?!)
* Bees are disappearing at an alarming rate due to the excessive use of pesticides in crops and certain blood-sucking parasites that only reproduce in bee colonies. It’s true that the extinction of bees would mean the end of humanity. For many of us, bees are annoying. But they are vital to the survival of the human species. *
Why is it, that humans are so hell bent on destroying the things that benefit us? Let's try and figure out this brain chemistry thing!
Plant native plants! grow clover instead of grass! Leave the dandelions! Don't use chemicals on your yard! Eat organic! Check out more of what you can do for the bees online!

Get outside and get it!! Unless you have allergies. In which case, stay inside! Scientists are beginning to find evidence that being in nature has a profound impact on our brains and our behavior, helping us to reduce anxiety, brooding, and stress, and increase our attention capacity, creativity, and our ability to connect with other people.
Have you noticed a bit of face-shyness going out into the world again? It feels weird to actually look others in the eyes after so long being indoors and around a small amount of people, or none at all. Getting out in nature can help reset the brain so we can better relate to others.
Keep wearing those masks as you emerge! Wash your hands! Eat healthy foods and take care of that microbiome with fermented foods and drinks. Keep your immunity up. Part of that is being outside and being with other humans. We need each other. We need our planet. We need you!! *
We have CBD booch in our online store and many stores in Wisconsin. Get your orders in by Noon Friday for Pickups Saturday at the NessAlla Brewery!

June is Pride month! Let us celebrate and continue to educate ourselves about the rainbow of diversity in our lives! Pride was started with protests and riots. Sometimes things need to get really loud in order to get people to listen. For far too long we have denied simple basic rights and liberties to those who don't fit the "traditional" mold. Guess what? There is no mold. No one way to be in this world. The standard should be equality for all. To be able to love equally, to be able to live life safely, to be able to express our true selves without fear. Love is love is love.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Get those orders in by noon Tuesday to have delivery in Madison or pickup on Wednesday. All proceeds from June will be donated to help LGBTQIA+ orgs in Madison and MKE and the BLM movement. Effect positive change. It can only benefit all of us.
