In May of 2008, NessAlla became the World’s First Craft kombucha company. We wanted to impact people’s lives and to make a difference by improving the health of those around us. We have always been focused on integrity; integrity in our product, ourselves, and our community. We feel now, this focus is more important than ever. It was our hope that we found a buyer for NessAlla who shared this mission; who shares a passion for giving back and using their business as a vehicle for good. We strongly believe in the local foods movement and that we all have a responsibility to the planet and future generations.
We are happy to announce Upside Grounds has purchased NessAlla, a company which shares our mission and integrity. It was important for the new owners to keep production here in Madison and keep it women-owned. We are excited to be moving forward with Upside Grounds. Alla (original founder of NessAlla), Justin and Patrick, who have been a major part of our team, will still be contributing to the success of NessAlla. Vanessa has moved on to pursue some new adventures and we are all excited to see where the road takes her. We are moving forward and will continue to make the best kombucha in the industry! Here is a little bit about the new ownership.
Jillian White: I am a mom of three fun-loving kiddos, Drew (9), Mari (7), and Graham (3). I started my career working in sales and marketing, but when Drew was born, I made the decision to stay at home with him. Besides being a stay-at-home mom, my life became more focused on health and wellness. Morning yoga and bootcamp classes became a part of my new routine. I met Brook five years ago and our families became fast friends. I have supported her as she evolved her coffee business, Upside Grounds, and I am thrilled to be able to help her company grow along with NessAlla, a brand I strongly believe in. I am so excited to work with Brook, Alla, and our awesome production team, making and promoting products that are good for the body, mind, and soul.
Brook Hanson: I am a mom of four, Mya (13), Triplets: Jack (11), Eli (11), Quinn (11). A few years ago, I started a coffee company called Upside Grounds. The journey started in my kitchen by trying different methods of roasting and fortifying coffee beans. The coffee is fortified with real nutrients and our coffee growers are chosen for their stories as much as for their beans. When we met everyone at NessAlla, we knew immediately that we needed to be a part of this team. We are fully invested in the future of NessAlla and adding to our line of healthy beverages. I am so excited to see where this adventure takes us and to share our full line of products with all of you!
From all of us at NessAlla
