This week, we moved into our new home at the historic Garver Feed Mill. At approximately 16,000 square feet, the new facility is twice the size of our old space – which means we can make more booch!
We are the first tenant in Garver, but we will be joined by other local businesses, including Ian’s Pizza, Calliope Ice Cream, and Sitka Salmon Shares, to name a few. Baum Revision, LLC, the company redeveloping the site, developed Garver Feed Mill to be a hub of activity for food producers and retailers alike.
The Garver Feed Mill was originally constructed in 1906 and is now a registered national historic landmark. Significant effort has gone into preserving the building and updating it for a sustainable future. Solar energy on the roof-top will power the businesses below. NessAlla Kombucha has installed a closed loop system that harvests the heat produced from the refrigerator and channels it back into the brew kettles. They are proud to be part of a project that aligns with their company values – which include a strong commitment to sustainability.
Tours will be coming in April – follow us on social for the details as they come!
