Hiiiiiii! We haven’t posted in a hot minuet as we have been super freakin busy! We have had some of the biggest order weeks to date and have been workin hard to get that booch in your hands.
This Week at the Saturday at the West Side Community Farmers Market we have the Cherry Sumac which is soooooooooooo delicious. The part of Sumac we used is a red cluster of fuzzy sticky berries that grow on a short-ish tree with very soft leaves. Sumac has been used as a culinary spice in many traditions. It has a very tart flavor and can actually be steeped in hot or warm water, cooled, blended with sugar or honey and made into a lemonade tasting beverage. SO, the idea here that we had is to make a sort of Cherry lemonade Kombucha. Cherry Sumac. Soooooo refreshing!!
We will also have a favorite that is pretty fleeting as most people snatch it up as soon as possible. Aronia.
Aronia berries are a native species. They contain so many awesome, awesome things in them. Again, I can’t geek and out and brag about all of it’s amazing attributes because of the darling folks at the FDA. I highly encourage you to check out how brilliant these berries are. The booch it makes is SO. F*&$!ng. GOOD. We might hoard most of it unless we can find more. Which we did! Along with some elder berry. So check out the elder berry aronia flavor. So purple you could dye…
So get on down to the West Side Community Market in the west side DMV parking lot and get some kick ass booch!
